We experienced extremely challenging filming conditions while searching for the aquatic heavyweights, crocodile and hippo, in the tidal rivers of Mozambique. Occasionally we got sanked into the mud so deep that only half of our bodies were free! We quickly improvised with black bags to cover equipment and plenty of mosquito repellent came in handy!
Our hard work of filming in this extreme conditions paid of with great trophies, excellent footage and memories to treasure forever.
It is very important that your camera is focused sharply on incoming birds when filming wingshooting. This is not so easy as the blue sky has so much depth. We got best results when we manually focused our cameras on average shooting distance.
South Africa offers a huge variety of plains game. Knowledge of each specie is a key ingredient to be a successful cameraman. This ensure that you can quickly get your camera focused on the correct trophy animal when on safari.
The African trophy hunting industry's policy of conservation through sustainable utilisation generates millions of dollars every year that ensure a golden future for Africa's wildlife. iGala Productions are actively involved in conservation and education in Africa.
The Okovango delta in Botswana is one of the most beautiful areas we ever filmed in!
We've seen extremely big buffalo herds, some well over 400 strong, while filming safaris for 2 years in the tall grass of the Mahimba concession in Mozambique.
